In a massive military operation on Saturday, the United States and Israel carried out coordinated strikes in Iran that resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei

Iranian state media confirmed that the 86-year-old leader was killed at his compound in Tehran, marking a historic shift in the region's leadership.

Reports confirmed that several members of Khamenei’s family, including his daughter and grandchild, were also killed in the strike.

The Israeli military released a list of seven high-ranking officials who were "eliminated" during the attacks. This included the Minister of Defence, Aziz Nasirzadeh, and the Chief of the Revolutionary Guard, Mohammad Pakpour.

Following the strikes, U.S. President Donald Trump warned Iran on social media to avoid fighting back. He stated that any retaliation would be met with "unprecedented force."

A temporary council led by Iran's President and the Judiciary Chief has taken over leadership duties while the country observes 40 days of mourning.
