Iyabo Obasanjo, the daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has declared that her mission to become the next Governor of Ogun State is an independent journey.

Iyabo stated that her decision to join the race was made personally and not based on her father’s approval or influence.

At 59 years old, she believes she is more than capable of making her own career moves without consulting her parents for every step.

Instead of political backing, Iyabo said the only thing she expects from her mother and father is their vote at the polls.

She expressed how lucky she feels to still have both parents alive at her age, even as she seeks to carve out her own legacy in Oyo and Ogun politics.
