The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has officially confirmed the date for the legal proceedings against the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai

According to a statement released by the agency's spokesperson, John Okor Odey, the high-profile politician is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday, March 24, 2026

This federal case, identified by suit number FHC/KD/73/2026, will take place at the Federal High Court in Kaduna.

El-Rufai will not be standing alone; he is set to be arraigned alongside an associate, Joel Adoga, as part of a broader crackdown on financial crimes.

The core of the federal charges against the former FCT Minister involves the illegal conversion of public property into personal assets and various counts of money laundering

This move follows a period of intense investigation into his eight-year tenure as governor between 2015 and 2023

The anti-graft agency emphasized that these charges were filed on March 18, 2026, marking a significant step in their pursuit of accountability.

Since February 18, 2026, the former governor has remained in ICPC custody, signaling the seriousness of the evidence gathered by the commission.
