Dele Momodu has labeled the recent wave of defections to the APC as a form of "slavery and servitude." During an interview on Wednesday, he stated that the ruling party is using legal and political pressure to force opposition leaders to switch sides.

According to Momodu, governors are switching to the APC because they believe it will protect them from investigations and help them secure their political future.

He compared APC members to "babies fighting for lollipops," noting that the party is facing major internal crises across various states despite its growing size.

Momodu argued that the government's push to recruit opposition leaders shows they are "jittery" about the upcoming 2027 elections.

He insists that while the APC tries to look strong by showcasing new defectors, the reality is a party struggling with internal division and pressure from the opposition.
