The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has officially confirmed his total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
During a high-level meeting at the Government House in Osogbo, Adeleke clarified that his political disagreements with the local APC branch do not affect his respect for the President.
He described Tinubu as the leader of the South West and stated that working toward his second term is in the "best interest" of the region.
This endorsement of Mr President comes at a time when Adeleke is also celebrating the growth of the Accord Party, following his recent defection.
While Adeleke is focused on grassroots mobilisation for his new party, he remains locked in a bitter local government dispute over council control.
The Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, noted that the administration is prioritizing democratic dividends for the youth and workers while navigating these legal hurdles.
Adeleke has instructed his aides to ignore the Osun APC clash when it comes to federal relations, insisting that the President remains a unified leader for the Yoruba people despite the violent clashes seen recently between rival supporters in the state.
