Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Limited, a prominent firm owned by well-known businesswoman Aisha Achimugu, has officially declared its intention to challenge a recent court ruling.

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Emeka Nwite, recently ordered the Final Forfeiture of $13 million.

These funds were originally intended for the Acquisition of Oil Blocks in Nigeria.

The court's decision came after a intense legal push by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which claimed the money was linked to Unlawful Activities.

According to the Anti-Graft Agency, the $13 million was part of a larger $20 million payment made toward securing high-value assets, specifically Deep Offshore PPL 302 and Shallow Water PPL 3007

Investigators alleged that the funds were funneled through Unlicensed Bureau de Change Operators and tied to contractors associated with the Lagos State Government

Despite these serious claims, the company’s secretary, Nnenna Onyeaso, maintains that the ruling is based on mere suspicion rather than concrete proof.

The firm has instructed its Legal Counsel to file an appeal, expressing total confidence that the Appellate Process will eventually prove the Legitimacy of Operations and clear the company's name.
