Between Thursday and Friday, at least three United States military aircraft landed in the North-East of Nigeria

The planes brought in ammunition and personnel as part of a new security agreement between Nigeria and the U.S. to help end the long-running war against terrorists.

The cargo planes, including large C-17 transports, brought in fresh supplies of ammunition to replace what the Nigerian military has used in recent battles.

About 200 U.S. officers are expected in the country. Experts clarify that these are not "frontline fighters" but trainers and intelligence analysts who will teach Nigerian troops how to use advanced technology and drones.

Flights were spotted in Maiduguri (Borno State) and Kaduna, where a new training hub is expected to be set up.

Following talks between the two governments, the U.S. is stepping up to provide high-tech help and "precision" strike capabilities to ensure fewer mistakes are made during air raids.
