Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has made it clear that he will not support Governor Alex Otti for a second term in 2027.
Speaking on Channels Television, the former governor explained that his decision isn't personal, but is based on his duty to his own political party.
Kalu explained that as a leader in the All Progressives Congress (APC), he must support the candidate his party chooses to run against Otti, who is in the Labour Party.
He emphasized that he and Governor Otti are still on good terms personally. He believes that people can belong to different parties and disagree politically without destroying their friendship.
Kalu said his main priority remains the peace and stability of Abia State, even if he is campaigning for a different candidate.
