The legal troubles of former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai have taken a massive turn. Just after the EFCC finished questioning him and granted him bail on Wednesday night, he was immediately intercepted and taken into custody by the ICPC

Meanwhile, the DSS is opening a serious "cold case" investigation that could involve his family.

After three days in EFCC custody, El-Rufai was released around 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, only to be picked up immediately by ICPC operatives for a different corruption probe.

The government has officially charged him in court for allegedly "hacking" or listening to the phone calls of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. The DSS claims he admitted this during a recent TV interview.

In a shocking twist, the DSS has reopened the 2019 disappearance of critic Abubakar "Dadiyata" Idris. They are investigating if El-Rufai or his sons, Bello and Bashir, have any link to the case, citing old social media posts as evidence.

To ensure he remains in the country for these trials, the DSS has already seized El-Rufai’s passport.
