The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has officially confirmed that it is now holding the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.
This news comes just after he was released from the EFCC’s office, showing that his legal troubles are far from over.
The ICPC spokesperson, Mr. J. Okor Odey, confirmed that El-Rufai was still with the commission as of the evening of Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
While the agency didn't give specific details yet, they stated he is being held in connection with "ongoing investigations" into his time as governor.
The ICPC assured the public that they are following the law and will handle the investigation professionally without taking sides.
El-Rufai, who governed Kaduna for eight years, has been under fire recently regarding how his administration managed state finances and contracts.
