The Kano State Censorship Board has ordered all entertainment hubs to close their doors starting tonight, Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
This move is to ensure that the holy month of Ramadan is observed in a calm and respectful atmosphere across the state.
All entertainment venues, including "gala houses" (local event spots) and Disc Jockey (DJ) operations, must stop working.
The shutdown begins strictly at 10:00 p.m. tonight.
Authorities say the closure will help residents focus on their prayers and religious duties without loud distractions or disturbances.
The ban will last throughout the fasting period. The government will announce a date for businesses to reopen as the Eid celebrations approach.
