A Federal High Court in Kano has convicted popular Kannywood actress Saadatu Mohammed Inuwa (better known as Samha) for mishandling the Naira.
The court found her guilty of "soiling" the currency, a serious offense under Nigerian law.
The Main Details:
The Crime: Back in 2022, the actress was caught using her nose to deface a ₦1,000 note. Under the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act, this is considered a crime against the national currency.
The Judgment: On February 13, 2026, Justice S.M. Shuaibu sentenced her to six months in prison.
The Second Chance: The judge gave her a "pay-your-way-out" option. Instead of going to jail, she can choose to pay a ₦200,000 fine.
Admission of Guilt: Samha pleaded guilty immediately and asked for mercy, saying she was deeply sorry and had never been in trouble with the law before.
