Building on his claim that the government is "scared," Nasir El-Rufai has told the Federal Government that he returned to Nigeria specifically to lead the political struggle

Speaking with BBC Hausa, he explained that the airport confrontation only proved that his presence in the country makes the current administration nervous.

Why He is Staying to Fight:

  1. Refusing Exile: El-Rufai believes the government hoped he would stay abroad in Egypt or Europe. By returning, he says he is proving he won't be intimidated into silence.

  2. The Power of Organization: He linked the airport drama to his political influence, stating that the authorities know his ability to organize a movement that could remove them from office.

  3. Standing His Ground: He dared any agency to prove a crime against him, noting that if there was real evidence, they wouldn't have to resort to airport ambushes and "snatching" passports.

  4. Mission Declared: He made it clear that he is now more motivated than ever to form a coalition to save Nigeria, saying, "I am even more energized when there is this kind of political struggle."
