Gunmen have abducted two residents in Ora-Igbomina, an Osun State community bordering Kwara State.
The attackers struck on Sunday night, targeting a private residence along Aran-Orin Road, Papa area, during a brief lull in police patrols due to heavy rainfall.
Residents say the gunmen, suspected to be bandits, fired shots to scare people away before dragging their victims into nearby bush paths.
The attackers seemed familiar with the terrain, exploiting the darkness and links between Osun and Kwara communities to escape.
The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the incident and launched search and rescue efforts. Police Public Relations Officer Abiodun Ojelabi says security operatives are combing the area, with reinforced patrols and sweeps into surrounding bushes.
The abducted individuals are identified as Tayese Adeyeye and Sunday Adewumi.
