Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the need for focused leadership and improved service delivery.
In a letter dated December 29, 2025, Mutfwang announced his resignation with immediate effect, thanking the PDP for the opportunity to serve.
The governor's decision is reportedly driven by prevailing political circumstances, and he's expected to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda had earlier announced Mutfwang's defection, stating it strengthens the party's hold on the North-Central region.
