Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State. The former senator and public health professor registered as a member on Tuesday, according to party sources.
The move has sparked speculation about her potential return to politics, following billboards bearing her name that appeared in Abeokuta last year. Obasanjo has said the billboards were put up by enthusiastic supporters, not by herself.
A source close to her said the decision reflects her independent thinking, not loyalty to any party. Obasanjo has held various roles, including Ogun State Health Commissioner and Senator.
