The Defence Headquarters says it's still assessing the impact of recent US-Nigeria joint airstrikes against terrorists. "We're still in the process, and we'll share our findings soon," says Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Michael Onoja.

The military confirms terrorists were present in the targeted areas, citing intelligence reports. The operation was intelligence-led, and forces are monitoring terrorist movements to prevent further infiltration.

Onoja urges the public to support security agencies with information, emphasizing a "whole-of-society" approach. "Security or insecurity can only be addressed through cooperation," he says.

The military won't respond to every media opinion, focusing instead on operations. Onoja also appeals for the return of ammunition fragments or materials from the site.
