Court Orders Actress Angela Okorie Remanded Over Cyberstalking

 

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie was remanded in Suleja Prison, Niger State, after pleading not guilty to cyberstalking and defamation charges. 

The charges stem from social media posts allegedly targeting fellow actress Mercy Johnson Okojie, calling her a "blood sucking demon".

Okorie's lawyer, Alex Ejesieme (SAN), applied for bail, citing inadequate preparation time and lack of access to his client. 

The prosecution opposed, citing expired administrative bail and Okorie's failure to honor police invitations.

Justice Emeka Nwite ordered Okorie's remand until January 30, directing both parties to exchange bail application documents within 24 hours. 

The judge criticized the police for denying Okorie access to her lawyers.
