Indian authorities have deported 32 Nigerian nationals linked to a transnational drug trafficking network, just two weeks after a major crackdown on a foreign-run narcotics syndicate operating across major cities. The deportation follows the arrest of around 50 suspects in a coordinated raid, one of India's largest operations against a foreign-run drug and hawala syndicate.

Investigators have traced the network to a Nigeria-based kingpin, identified as "Nick," who is wanted in multiple drug trafficking cases. The arrested Nigerians were allegedly working for Nick, who maintained about 100 associates in Delhi alone, operating a multi-layered supply chain that feeds clients nationwide.

The investigation revealed that the network had over 3,000 clients across India, with customer lists pieced together from payment trails, encrypted chats, and delivery contacts. Payments were routed through seemingly legitimate businesses, which existed primarily to launder drug money.

The Elite Anti-Narcotics Group (EAGLE) uncovered a chain of companies allegedly used to clean illicit proceeds. In one instance, a publisher laundered Rs 20 lakh to Nigeria after partnering with the peddlers.

The Delhi Police deported 32 Nigerian nationals on priority, while seven others face prosecution after drugs were recovered from them. The remaining suspects may also be deported pending clearance and documentation reviews.
