In a bold move to restore peace, Troops of Sector 2 under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have launched a series of coordinated strikes against terrorist hideouts across three key states.
This week’s high-stakes operations in Sokoto State, Zamfara State, and Kebbi State resulted in the elimination of at least six suspected bandits.
Military sources confirm that these efforts are part of a broader strategy by the Nigerian Army to protect vulnerable communities and completely break the back of criminal networks operating within the region.
The success of the mission was evident in Sokoto State, where the COAS Intervention Battalion VII engaged in fierce combat at Magonho Forest.
During these encounters, three armed bandits were neutralized, and soldiers successfully seized AK-47 rifles and operational motorcycles.
Meanwhile, in Zamfara State, troops executed a brilliant ambush along the Gada Maya–Makakari road, killing two additional terrorists.
Beyond the casualties, the military recovered high-caliber ammunition, a Baofeng radio for communication, and mobile devices.
A potential retaliatory attack on Kaida Village was also thwarted, demonstrating the military's proactive stance in preventing civilian casualties.
