In a formal ceremony on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, ACP Benjamin Hundeyin officially handed over the role of Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) to DCP Anthony Placid.
The event took place at the Police Headquarters, Louis Edet House, in Abuja, marking a new chapter for police communications under IGP Olatunji Disu.
ACP Hundeyin, who has been a prominent voice for the police, stepped down to allow the newly appointed DCP Placid to take over the national spokesperson role.
The new "Police PRO," DCP Placid, is a highly experienced officer with a background in intelligence, operations, and international peacekeeping.
Born in 1970, Placid hails from Nsit Ibom in Akwa Ibom State and has been a member of the force since 1996.
He holds degrees in Geography, Law, and Diplomacy, and is an expert in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
