A tragic and unusual criminal case has unfolded in Charles County, where Dayton James Webber, a 27-year-old quadruple amputee, is facing first-degree murder charges.
According to official court documents, the incident began as a heated argument inside a vehicle on March 22, 2026.
Witnesses reported that while Webber was driving, a dispute broke out between him and the passenger, Bradrick Michael Wells. The situation escalated when Webber allegedly produced a firearm and shot Wells twice in the head.
Following the fatal shooting, the suspect reportedly drove away with the victim still in the car after witnesses refused to help remove the body.
Law enforcement later discovered Wells's remains discarded along Newport Church Road in Charlotte Hall.
After a multi-state search, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect's vehicle in Charlottesville, Virginia, where Webber was found seeking medical attention at a local hospital.
He is currently awaiting extradition to Maryland to face several serious counts, including second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and the use of a firearm in a felony.
While investigators confirm he acted alone, they have not yet detailed how a man with no arms or legs operated the vehicle or the weapon.
