The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has officially responded to Nasir El-Rufai’s letter about an alleged 10kg shipment of toxic chemicals from Poland.
In a letter signed by a Brigadier-General, the government dismissed the claims as false and called for a formal probe.
The government insists that the story about the toxic chemical is completely made up and that no such "procurement" exists.
The NSA’s office says that if the "political opposition" has information about a security threat, they must share it with the DSS rather than just making social media claims.
The DSS will now lead an "in-depth investigation" to find out where this rumor started and to establish the real facts.
The letter emphasized that public safety is a priority and that they are ready to question anyone who has "relevant information" about the alleged poison.
