Onitsha Main Market traders have pledged to end their Monday sit-at-home, backing Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo's vision for a united and economically vibrant Anambra State

The traders, led by Chairman Chijioke Okpalugo, promised to resume full business activities on Mondays, seeking enhanced security around markets.

Governor Soludo declared all markets and shops must stay open on working days, saying the era of sit-at-home-induced closures is over.

He presented a "renovate or rebuild" option for Onitsha Main Market, insisting business activities must continue uninterrupted.

Soludo condemned the enforced sit-at-home as a "criminal enterprise" unrelated to IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's detention, warning of extreme measures against defiance
