AJ Back Home: Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital After Car Crash 😊

 

Former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from the hospital after a devastating car accident claimed the lives of two close friends, Lateef Ayodele and Cina Gami, on December 29, 2025. 

The Lagos and Ogun state governments expressed condolences to the families of the deceased, describing the incident as "tragic and painful".

Joshua, who was discharged late Wednesday afternoon, was certified clinically fit to continue his recovery at home. 

Despite being relieved, he's reportedly "heavy-hearted and full of emotions" over the loss of his friends. Accompanied by his mother, he visited a funeral home in Lagos to pay his last respects as the bodies are prepared for repatriation.

The governments of Lagos and Ogun states thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support and commended the medical team at Lagoon Hospital Ikoyi for their professionalism. 

They prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and strength for their families.
