Don Pedro Obaseki, CEO of Hosamudia Farm and cousin of former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, was humiliated by suspected thugs in Benin City.
He was stripped naked and taken to the Oba's palace, where he was made to kneel at the gate.
The thugs claimed he was an "enemy of the Oba", but palace chiefs intervened, citing the Igue festival's Thanksgiving Day.
Obaseki was later taken inside the palace for safety.
Meanwhile, Obaseki had recently warned that politicians who exploit power for personal gain will face divine punishment.
He emphasized that power is a divine responsibility, not a means for self-enrichment
