Armed Attack in Osun Leaves Village Head D*ead, Former Customs Officer Missing

A fatal attack by suspected gunmen in Ora, a community on the Osun-Kwara boundary, has claimed the life of a village head, Dennis, and resulted in the abduction of a retired Customs officer, Emmanuel Owolabi.

The incident, which occurred on Monday, has thrown the community into panic, with residents fleeing in different directions as the assailants escaped into the bush with the victims.

According to Owolabi's wife, Titilayo, the attack happened at around 7pm on Akisa Road, Ora, Osun State. She said her husband had visited her shop before heading to another location, and she later heard gunshots and saw the gunmen fleeing with him.

The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the incident and deployed additional personnel to comb the bush in the area. Police spokesperson Abiodun Ojelabi stated that efforts are underway to rescue the victim, and one person was shot dead in Kwara State while fleeing the scene.
